Classic Decorating Solutions In The Bedroom
Whenever there are plans to redecorate, you have to take the time to do your homework so that you will be happy with the outcome. It is recommended that you spend time reviewing decor magazines, watching informative decor television shows, and even visit showrooms.
This is true for any room you are redoing. But, when doing so, make sure that you are decorating with function in mind. Creating a space that is too formal for your own style won’t allow you to feel comfortable either. So, there is much to be considered. The first and foremost thing to consider when redecorating the bedroom is the furniture. As the bed is the largest item in it, you must choose one that will be timeless, like a sleigh bed.
Sleigh beds are classics that are always ‘in.’ When you design in other ways, like with trendier materials and styles, they often look dated after some years. That’s why it makes more sense to invest in great pieces. While they might cost more in the beginning, over time, they will pay for themselves, saving you lots of money in future.
A queen sleigh bed is probably your best bet, fitting in almost every size room. But more than that, it gives you enough space on the bed to sleep comfortably, whether you are a couple or all alone.
As for decorating the bed to make it look more inviting and very stylish, dress it up with accent pillows as well as regular pillows and shams. Different shapes will provide more interest, as will different colors. Pay attention to the texture of the bedding as well. Make sure that you distribute color, pattern and texture around the room, too. This will keep the room looking well matched and working well visually.
Creating interesting lines within the bedroom is also highly recommended. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a boring space if everything is that one height. In order to bring more interest to this problem, simply add large frames, a freestanding mirror, and other things that will resolve the issue. But, it be careful not to go overboard. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a super imposing decor which can make you feel awkward and uncomfortable.
Creating a space that is visually balanced is also of essence. Ultimately, you are trying to achieve the same amount of weight on either side of the bed. Pay attention to the way you place your furniture. If one side is much heavier than the other, ring and other pieces that will balance it out. Of course, this doesn’t have to be in the form of furniture. Instead, you can use a larger lamp on one side or even a freestanding mirror.
