Why hasn’t anyone asked Clint Eastwood to make the “Rawhide” movie?
With all the sequels being done, and now with the release of a new remake of “3:10 to Yuma”, as well as the fact that he won’t be with us forever, why doesn’t Clint Eastwood redevelope the character of an aging Rowdy Yates, the changing cattle industry and the autumm of the Western frontier? The series was a television classic and would make a great classic movie if handled by the Master. Clint practically cut his teeth as a director on the series and I think that would make him the perfect producer and director, as well as actor, for this project. But does he want to, and why not?
From statements he’s made in the past, I don’t think he was too fond of the Rawhide experience. He was grateful for the exposure, but I don’t think he cared for it much. Of course this is just what I think.
